Motivation Booster!
My sis in law who lives in Utah gave me ring the other night to let me know that she ran 12 miles in 2 hours. This girl is amazing. I am so proud of her but totally motivated to run faster now. She is one of the many that will run the SLC 1/2 marathon this April. My goal for this marathon was 2 hours and 23 minutes. After talking with Kylee my new goal is to keep up with her. Not because I want to beat her (don't get me wrong that would be fun too) but to tell the truth I just don't want to finish last in the fam.

Snow Day and New Running Shoes!
Today we woke up to fun in the snow! I love the snow. I think it is so peaceful and of course fun! With work being cancelled for the day due to road closures I was looking forward to playing in the snow. T worked graveyard last night so I decided to take a nap before the fun. My nap turned into 4 hours of good sleep. I must of needed it but was very disappointed when I looked outside to see most of the snow gone :( I guess there is always tomorrow because we are expected to get another 2-4 inches tonight. YEAH! Now for my new shoes. After my last 1/2 marathon I was experiencing some serious knee pain. I was told that this could be due the shoes that I have been wearing. The running store that host my marathon training group fits you you to shoes by the dynamics of your running. Basically you go in and they size you then they have you run on a treadmill barefoot to see how your feet are. Apparently the arches of my feet completely collapse when I run putting pressure on the out side of my knees hence the pain I have been experiencing. The guy that was helping me through this process asked me where I got the shoes I have been running in and how I choose them. I had to sadly admit that I got them at Fred Meyer and choose them because they were on sale for 19.99. Well I got a great pair of shoes that I love and bought shoe inserts that support my arches so cross your fingers and hope this takes care of my knee pain.

My New Training Group
I signed up for a Marathon training group and tonight was our first meeting. Basically you told them if you planning to run a half marathon or full marathon and they laid out a training schedule for you to follow that would help you reach whatever time goal you wanted. They also organize a long run every Saturday morning where they set up aid stations and everyone meets to run together. Super fun I know! Tonight they gave everyone their training booklets and went through the various different runs in them so that everyone understood what they should be doing. I am soo excited to have people to run with especially on those long days. I got super pumped and can't wait to officailly start my training again tomorrow! YEAH!

A Day of Fun in the Snow!
Today was a great and rare ( or at least it seems to be lately) occasion that T and I had the same day off from work! We made plans to go skiing or in T's case snowboarding. If you know me at all you know I love to sleep in especially on my days off so when the alarm went off this morning at 7:15am I did not hesitate to press snooze. T on the other hand sets his alarm even on his days off because he doesn't want to miss one minute of his day off, so he was up and atom no problem! After pressing snooze three times T came into the bedroom and asked if I just wanted to bag the whole day. I could hear the disappointment in his voice so I dragged myself out of bed and got ready to go. I am soooo glad because it was such a beautiful day and we were practically the only ones on the mountain until about 2:00. I had a great day in the snow with my hubby!

A Sad Goodbye
The last few months that T and I lived in Spokane we had a dog named Brutus. He was the ugliest cutest dog you have ever seen in the whole wide world! No Joke! I absolutely loved Brutus even though he had some issues. He would follow me wherever I went in the apartment. I couldn't even use the bathroom without him whining and scratching at the door. When we moved back to Sumner we had to give Brutus away because out land lords would not let us have animals. So we gave him to a our close friend Hippie - Joe (this is what T and I call him because he literally is a hippie). They were a perfect match. Today when I got home from work T informed that Joe had called and Brutus was hit by a car and passed away. We loved him very much and will always remember the days we got share with him!

Nookachamp? YOU BET I AM!!!
My 1/2 Marathon was this past Saturday and may I say I think I rocked! I thought I would finish is about 3 hours and I actually finished in 2 hours and 40 minutes!!! I was really excited about maintaining my 12min mile pace throughout the whole thing! I did have to walk twice on the hills so my goal for the next one is no walking no matter the hill! I am completely in love with running in events now. It was so motivational. Everyone was super encouraging and friendly and it only made me want to run more. Big thanks to my sis in law Ang for introducing to the beautiful world of running. You have no idea how you have help me get out of rut and start running to towards a better me! THANK YOU!!! Next adventure the Salt Lake City 1/2 Marathon in April!

One Week to go Until the Big Day!
In one week from today I will be running my first ever half marathon! I am totally excited and scared out of my mind. I have had exactly 10 weeks to train with Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years right smack dab in the middle. Now I know I am not in the best shape of my life and I probably could have done more running to train for this adventure but I am still going to go and do my best and hopefully finish without making everyone hang out waiting for me to finish! Wish me luck!
