Bummer Run!
This morning I got up and was totally excited to do my run today. It was my first run with my new Garmin Forerunner watch! My goal today was to do 5 miles. So I started my run and was feeling great and around mile 2 I was feeling so great that I was contemplating doing more as I was enjoying playing with my new watch. About mile 2.73 I got the worst die ache of my life!! I felt like something was exploding inside my body on the right side. It was so bad that I headed home so I only ended up doing 3.63 miles. This is not the first time that a side ache as disrupted my run. I asked my sis in law Ang what the possible causes of this could be and she said that I wasn't drinking enough water. So I thought I was drinking a lot but I guess I am going to have increase my intake even more because I do not want this to happen again and ruin a perfectly good run!!!

The Holiday Season
I always enjoy the holiday season. Food, family, and of course more good food!!!! But I am always relieved to see them pass! We have been super busy for the last 2 weeks with Christmas parties and seeing family from out of town! I love iot but always feel like I need a vacation after :) As January 12th ( the day I will attempt to run a half marathon) approaches I am getting more and more nervous. I have been trying to run faithly every day but during the Holiday season it has been very difficult! I'm back on track now and am toatlly excited to do this!!!! I ahve to share my favorite memory from Christmas. T and I decided to go to the mountains on Christmas Eve and go skiing and snowboarding. I ski, T snowboards. I was a little nervous about this adventure because it has been close to four years since the last time we went. We rented our gear and headed to the first run, a bunny hill, and got on the chair lift. When we were getting off T biffed it big time where they had to slow the chair lift down so he could move before the next people got off. I couldn't help but laugh as I glided past him and watch him try to get out of the way. After he buckled in his other foot it was time to see how the rest of the day would go. I let him go first because I was nervous. So he pointed his snowboard downhill moved about 6 inches before he was falling again. I waited and watched him fall and try again until he was about half way down when I decided to brave it. So I took a deep breath and pointed my skis down hill and it was like I had never had a break from it. I made my way down the hill with ease and as a past T who had just fallen again I couldn't help but smile. It is not very often that I am better than he is at a sporting event in fact I Have never been better I enjoyed this moment. Of course by the end of the day he had found his legs as was doing just fine. But for a couple of runs I was better and I will always remember that! We had soo much fun that day that we are talking about making it a tradition. I love new traditions!!

Happy 24th to Me!!!
Today was my birthday and I had a great day! I'm really not much for my own birthday but my Husband made my day a perfect birthday! I had to work this morning and they threw me a little b-day shin-dig and then I headed home to stand in the freezing cold half rain and snow for the Sumner holiday parade! Then we went home to have a fire and Happy Teriyaki (my fav) for dinner and watched movies by the fire all night. I loved this! To me there is no better night than snuggling up to my hunny, watching movies together, and hanging out! Thanks T for making my day great!!!!

Thanksgiving Here We Come!
For the first time T and I are hosting Thanksgiving for his family. I am super excited and super nervous for this. All day today we were preparing for the event. We went grocery shopping ( which is a whole other crazy experience ) and cleaned the house. When we got home we started preparing some of the food that could be done the night before: pickle wraps, green bean casserole and pumpkin pie. I think I purchased the hardest easiest pumpkin pie stuff. The crust and only the crust had to be covered with tin foil after the first 15 minutes. Sounds easy enough right? Not so easy. Both T and I were hovering over the hot oven trying to place tin foil on a very hot pie crust all the while trying not disturb the pumpkin filling. This was not working out so well for us every time we would get one piece of foil on another would fall off. So we decided to take them completely out of the oven. This definitely worked a lot better without the heat of the oven in our faces. After we finally got all the foil on T was trying to very carefully place them back into the oven and dropped one on the door to oven. I just thought this was so funny and T did not. After all this hoopla with the pies I sure hope the pumpkin pie that made it is sure delicious and worth the struggle!!! I love holidays they are always full of fun and unexpected disasters!

Half - Marathon Here I Come
For the last two weeks I have been training for a half-marathon that will take place on January 12th. For some now I know insane reason I let my sister-inlaw Angela talk me into running this. I guess it is not really the run that makes me nervous but the fact that when I agreed to run this I only had 10 weeks to train. My goal is to just run the whole thing. At first I thought that if I trained everyday I would be able to reach this goal but my last few runs have been discouraging. I started off running two miles and now I run a very challenging 3 miles. Tonight on my run all I could think about was that if 3 miles are this hard for me now how am I ever going to make 13 miles. Well I'm not one to give up, I am one to get mad and get her done! If I have to finish on a gurny with an oxygen bag I will finish the run!

A Little About My Family
This is my first blog so to start it off I thought I would share why I decided to start blogging. Some of my sister inlaws blog religously and I have several friends that blog and thought that it would be great way to try and keep in better touch with them. This new world of blogging seems like a lot of fun and I am excited to get started.
