I Think I Have Been Tagged

I think I have been tagged by my lovely sis in law Jana. So here it goes as far as I can remember.

10 years ago - I was an eighth grader at Sumner Junior High. This was by far my fave year out of high school and junior high. I made varsity volleyball and got my first pair of contacts (I had ugly glasses too Jana)

5 years ago - I finished my AA degree at Pierce Community College and was working as a dental assistant for a Pediatric dentist in Federal Way. I was also working on dental hygiene applications.

3 years ago - I was just finishing my second quarter of Dental hygiene school and wondering how in the world I was going to make it another 2 and half years. When I wasn't at school or studying I was working at Safeway as a checker and eventually in the Starbucks department.

1 year ago - T and I were newlyweds trying to survive the chaos that is dental hygiene school. I had past and survived my first out of 5 board exams and was preparing for another. T was working very hard at good old Mr. Car Wash so that I could finish school and get my license to practice dental hygiene.

So far this year - T is working for Sonoco with his uncle Doug and enjoying the four days off four days on schedule and making a salary. I am working full time as a hygienist in an office that I absolutely love. T is playing lots of basketball while I am running. We moved back home from Spokane and are enjoying being around more family.

Yesterday - Enjoyed watching T's adventure with his plane and relaxed, watched a movie and did laundry to try and get ready for another work week.

Today - I worked while T had the day off I'm sure playing video games all day! T had a basketball game with his work team that is more like a Hanni family team. There were 5 family members playing tonight including 2 cousins Brain and Randy, T's brother Brad and his uncle Doug.

Later tonight - Watch American Idol that we taped because we missed a day last week!

Tomorrow - Another day at work and American Idol of course!

This year - Hopefully T and I will finally go on a vacation (be-lated honeymoon) and you never know after I get my vacation T might get his first little one! A year is long time you never can predict all that will bless your life!

Ready For Flight? Maybe Not!

Four years ago for Christmas all T wanted was a remote control airplane and I got it for him. Until today he had never flown it. Take off was scheduled for 2 o'clock this afternoon. A small crowd including family and few friends gathered for this inaugural flight. T ran into a few minor snags right off the bat but was able to fix them. The take - off was great but no more then ten seconds after take-off it caught a gust of wind and headed straight for a tree! T tried to compensate for the wind but the plane ended up crashing into the next tree anyway. We all walked over to see the damage and the plane was stuck up in the tree in pieces. Brad and Jordan climb the tree to rescue the wreckage! Eventually after trying for what seemed like forever we knocked it loose and fell the rest of the way to the ground. Needless to say the first flight will be it's last but we all had a whole lot fun today. T is a little upset that he didn't get much use of the plane but maybe in the future he will enjoy the memory of crashing his plane and salvaging the wreckage! I know I sure had fun! Here a couple of videos of T getting ready for take off and a couple of pictures of the rescue attempt!

T ready for flight. (Sorry I didn't know how to rotate the pic)

This is the plane in the tree!

Brad in the tree

At one point Brad had both his legs and arms wrapped around the tree because he was scared of falling. The other boys were throwing sticks and balls into the tree trying to knock the plane free!

Fight Night

T and I are both UFC fans. Last night Cory, a guy that I graduated high school with, was fighting for a contract with the UFC for a company called Strikeforce at the Tacoma Dome. Cory got us tickets and most of our graduating class as well as the one before us and the one after. Apparently the ticket sales broke any other boxing, cage fighting, and kickboxing event that the Tacoma Dome as ever hosted and 2 thousand of those tickets were for Cory. There were ten fights of the night Cory being the second to last and the last fight of the night was Bob Sapp who starred as the big guy in The longest Yard. We had great seats thanks to Cory overlooking the cage. The first eight fights all went to decision (were the judges decided the winner) and were boring. When it came time to introduce Cory the whole crowd went crazy and was on there fight it was really amazing to see how many people were there for this one fight. When his opponent came out the crowd was quiet except for those few people who thought it was necessary to boo. Cory ended beating the guy 1 minute and 20 seconds into the first round by slamming him onto the ground and the guy tapped out (gave up). They ended up having to take the guy out of the ring on a stretcher. When Cory made his move the whole crowd went crazy! It was fun to see one of classmates dreams come true!
