First Camping Trip of the Year

The weather was on the nicer side this weekend so T and I decided to go camping at Lake Trask ( a lake that my family owns property on near Shelton). So we packed the fishing poles and the quads and headed out early Saturday morning. We had lots of fun. Saturday was just gorgeous! We rode alot and fished alot! Both of my parents own their own lots so it was fun seeing my dad this weekend he is like a whole new man out in the wilderness. It is like he is young again. We brought hotdogs to eat and the only condiment we had for them was ketchup (my fav) T was a little disappointed that there was no mustard and relish so he loaded up his hotdog with more ketchup then I think I have ever seen on a hotdog! It was pretty funny watching him eat it! We did lots of hill climbs on the quads so I could conquer my fear and it seemed to work. T got up early on Sunday (5am) and went fishing with some friends of ours he came back around 10 with a 3.5lb trout!!! Lake Trask is a fishing only lake there are no motor boats aloud but this is by far in the 15years I have been going there the biggest fish I have seen come out of the lake! T learned to do something called trolling with a fly fish of course now he wants one of his own.

We saw Jordy practing Saturday morning!

Lazy Poster!

I have been soooooo lazy about taking pictures off my camera so here are some fun things we have been upto over the last month or so!

T and I bought some new toys - Quads to be exact. He got a TRX450 and I got a TRX 250! We have taken them out a couple of times and absolutly love them! Here are photos from our first outing with our new toys!
A few weeks ago Hunter and some of his friends were playing with air soft guns in the backyard so T and Brad got a bright idea to ambush them with T's guns! After they recruited jordan they went in for the attack! Here are some vidoes from that!

In this videos T is trying to dodge the bullets that Hunter are shooting at him!

SLC 1/2 Marathon

What a fun weekend! I really had such a fun time with T's family. Everybody who came ran something. The break down goes a little something like this Ang = marathon; Me, Kylee, and Jeff = 1/2 marathon; Jana, Cheryl, Kimm, Josh, Paytan, and Grace all did the 5K. the weather was super nice for a run except towards the end the wind start to pick up. I felt really good about my run! I started off smart like I wanted to doing slower miles to warm-up. At about mile 2.5 I picked up the speed and did 10 to 10:30 minute miles. I felt really good until I had to use the restroom around mile 9. I had to wait in line and when I started running again I had a hard time finding a groove again. I have been struggling with a chest cold for about a month and when I started to run again I felt like I just wasn't getting enough air in. So I slowed my pace and ended up finishing in 2:32:45! This is twelve minutes faster than my race in January!
here are some fun photos!

Ang and I in the morning before the race!

I also went with Ang to here Marathon Mommies dinner the night before the race. This was alot of fun I really enjoyed meeting everyone and getting pumped for the big race with them! Here are some photos from that!

Lesson Learned and New Hero!!

Today was my last long run before SLC!!!! YEAH!!! My sis in law Ang was running 20 miles today (she is training for the full marathon) so I met up with her on her mile 7 and ran the rest of the way with her. This morning before the run I got up extra early because T was not feeling well before he had to go to work. So I took my time getting ready made myself some oatmeal and sat done to watch the morning news. The Weatherman sad that the temperature would not get over 35 degrees today so I thought wearing my under armour would be fine. For the first 6 miles I was doing great averaging probably about 10:45 second miles. At mile 6 we stopped at my car so Ang could take Ibuprofen and I could get some water. When we started again the sun came out and the weather was actually quite nice. At this point I just started to roast! I don't think I have ever been that hot running! I was dripping sweat from my hat and felt like I was just going to drop over so I started to walk. Today I realized how important wardrobe was! Super bummed that I had to walk! Ang saw that I was walking so she ran back gave me some water from her fuel belt and helped me with a little wardrobe change. I literally stripped right on the middle of the trail next to the HWY! I can't believe I did that! Trust me I do not look flattering in a sports bra! After the wardrobe change I was good to go! I finished in 2:30 minutes not too bad for walking a little. Overall it was good run! I felt bad because Ang would run ahead and then turn around and run back to check on me. Not much of a running partner! Ang ended running 21 miles instead of her planned 20 miles! I am so impressed! Every time I started to feel tired or crampyI reminded myself that she had run twice as long and was still going strong! Ang is my new Hero! She never faltered the whole run and never complained she is a true runner and marathoner! CONGRATS Ang you are going to dominate at SLC!!

A Nice Reminder~

I was so excited for day light savings time because I thought that would mean more outdoor runs for this girl but it has been so rainy that I had to experience a good outdoor run after work until yesterday. It was cold but absolutely gorgeous outside so after work I rushed home to get my run in before it got dark outside. On my training schedule I had an "easy" 3 miler scheduled but once I sunk into my run I couldn't help but let my feet set the pace. For some reason I really enjoyed this run ...... was it any different than any other run ...... no but I remember thinking this is why I LOVE to run, this is why I get up early on Saturday and this is why I continue to push my limits to see what I am truly capable of. Maybe it was weather, maybe it was good music, or maybe it was mental but in the last 5 months since I started running again this was my favorite run yet!

Rascal Flatts Here We Come!

It is official! We are going to the Rascal Flatts concert at the Tacoma Dome on April 5th. We can't wait! This is T's favorite group. He owns every CD of theirs and knows every word to every song! Everytime we hear them on the radio he looks at me and then says " Guess what ....we are going to their concert!"

I Think I Have Been Tagged

I think I have been tagged by my lovely sis in law Jana. So here it goes as far as I can remember.

10 years ago - I was an eighth grader at Sumner Junior High. This was by far my fave year out of high school and junior high. I made varsity volleyball and got my first pair of contacts (I had ugly glasses too Jana)

5 years ago - I finished my AA degree at Pierce Community College and was working as a dental assistant for a Pediatric dentist in Federal Way. I was also working on dental hygiene applications.

3 years ago - I was just finishing my second quarter of Dental hygiene school and wondering how in the world I was going to make it another 2 and half years. When I wasn't at school or studying I was working at Safeway as a checker and eventually in the Starbucks department.

1 year ago - T and I were newlyweds trying to survive the chaos that is dental hygiene school. I had past and survived my first out of 5 board exams and was preparing for another. T was working very hard at good old Mr. Car Wash so that I could finish school and get my license to practice dental hygiene.

So far this year - T is working for Sonoco with his uncle Doug and enjoying the four days off four days on schedule and making a salary. I am working full time as a hygienist in an office that I absolutely love. T is playing lots of basketball while I am running. We moved back home from Spokane and are enjoying being around more family.

Yesterday - Enjoyed watching T's adventure with his plane and relaxed, watched a movie and did laundry to try and get ready for another work week.

Today - I worked while T had the day off I'm sure playing video games all day! T had a basketball game with his work team that is more like a Hanni family team. There were 5 family members playing tonight including 2 cousins Brain and Randy, T's brother Brad and his uncle Doug.

Later tonight - Watch American Idol that we taped because we missed a day last week!

Tomorrow - Another day at work and American Idol of course!

This year - Hopefully T and I will finally go on a vacation (be-lated honeymoon) and you never know after I get my vacation T might get his first little one! A year is long time you never can predict all that will bless your life!
